About Us
Let us introduce ourselves. We are a mother-daughter team. Both of us grew up on midwestern farms and now live in the city. While on the farm, we became a resource for farm-themed education and entertainment programs. In the city, with all its retail advantages, we found shopping for farm-themed products difficult and frustrating. There was no one place that offered what we were looking for - family-friendly products with farm themes.
Finally, out of a desire to teach our children and grandchildren more about the farm and where their food comes from this business was born. First, we searched for and collected an assortment of farm-themed products. Then, we began selling them at teacher conferences, fairs and exhibitions. After that, we added a catalog and internet sales. Next, we plan to build a FREE database of resources to aid parents and teachers. So, we are collecting information on farm-themed places to go, things to do and books to read that help people “connect with the farm.”
We think food-to-table education is a global necessity today so we donate a percentage of every sale to Heifer International. Heifer’s mission is to end poverty and hunger by giving farm animals---and the training to care for them---to families who need food and income. In return, the family “passes on the gift” by giving their animal’s first offspring, as well as teaching its care, to a neighbor in need. Over the past 60 years, this simple idea has helped millions of families in 128 countries including the United States.
